What is Hypnosis? Researchers as well as lay people countless times have asked this question. As yet there is still no consensus on an exact definition, possibly because there isn't any. It seems to be a state where the experience of the individual in a state of highly focused attention is unique to that individual. In other words each experience of hypnosis is as unique as the person experiencing it.
Historically and even to this day there are misconceptions of what exactly
hypnosis is. Healers throughout history have been accused of using hypnosis
as one of their tools of witchcraft. The media for the most part portrays
hypnosis as something sinister and even when it is portrayed in a positive
light it is usually not done very well. Many religious fundamentalist groups
have condemned it possibly because it can help enhance our ability to be independent
and make choices. It might be assumed that many of the followers of Christ,
Buddha, Mohammed and Gandhi were in hypnosis when they listened to their words.
In fact most of us move in and out of hypnosis at least a few times a day.
Society is in the midst of incredible change. Hypnosis is a valuable tool
to enhance our ability to adjust to that change in a healthy manner.

It is definitely high time for morbidly obese people with high BMIs to start thinking to lose weight. There are quite a few diet regimes that are suitable for such individuals. One such diet is zone diet. Like atkin's, it concentrates on intake of certain food groups for a time period. Unlike this, the alkaline diet requires more preparation, since it concentrates on detoxifying one's system, by including only fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet, and not much cooked stuff.
